Reading Portion: Joshua ch 1 : 1 to 9

God's work will never be hindered even if His servants pass away. Joshua was appointed to lead Israel after the death of Moses.

Exodus ch 17: 9 to 16    - Moses  told Joshua to fight the Amalekites. Joshua as a youngster was ready to take up the leadership that was  bestowed upon him. While Joshua fought, Moses , Aaron and Hur prayed for the Israelites.

Exodus ch 24:13            - When Moses went up into the mount Sinai, Joshua was praying at the bottom of the mount.

Numbers ch 11: 24 to 28 - Joshua is jealous here and we see him being corrected by Moses. We must not secretly grieve at the gifts, graces,  and usefulness of others.

Numbers ch 27: 15 to 20 -  Moses appoints Joshua to lead God's people so that  the congregation of the  LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. God testifies Joshua as a man filled with the Spirit of God.
Moses did exactly what was commanded to him by God to appoint Joshua the next leader and gave some of his  authority to Joshua.
Numbers ch 32 : 11 &12   - Joshua wholly followed God due to which he had the priviledge to enter Canaan.
Deuteronomy 34:9            - Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him.
