Message for the Week

Reading portion: Hebrews ch 6:9

“But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.”

Grow in knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus

II Peter 3:18:  We have to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We should always have a craving for the word of God as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk (I Pet 2:2) of the word by which we will be able to grow in the knowledge of the Lord

We should grow in all things and in all areas (Eph 4:15). In adverse situations in our life we should meditate more on the word of God and be spiritually healthy and active.

Paul: When Paul had the knowledge of the Lord he was able to count all the blessings of this world as rubbish. (Phil ch 3:10,8)

Moses: When Moses came of age spiritually and mentally, he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter (Heb 11:24).

Rejoice in the Lord always:

We should always be able to rejoice in any situations (Habakkuk 3:17,18). We should worry about the adverse situations while we are in this world for we have an inheritance which is incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for us (I Pet 1:4).

Fellowship of Salvation (Phil 3:10):

Fellowship means partnership. Romans ch 8:17 says “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

We have been made joint heirs with Christ i.e. we have a partnership with Him. If we have to know the power of His fellowship we have to understand His sufferings on the cross. We have to suffer with Him and then we can be glorified with Him.
